Millions of Americans struggle with mental health and substance misuse while coping with the pandemic and related stress. The costs and harm to individuals and companies are alarming.  70% of adults that misuse drugs are employed and 67% of HR professionals believe substance misuse is a serious issue. Workplace cultures can exacerbate the problem and because of fear or stigma many employees are unwilling to seek help. Companies can use DE&I initiatives to combat stigma and raise awareness of substance misuse and addiction in the workplace.
